Welcome to 2019!
Happy New Year to all of you, your families and communities. It was an honour to facilitate our last event of 2018, the Agile Learning with Lego®, with so many of you attending and enjoying the challenge of playing lego again. It is fantastic to be back again in 2019, I really hope you all had a great break and feeling refreshed.
To help us advance our cause of professionalising project leadership, we have four new council members, two of which come from outside of Sydney (Newcastle and Orange). I am also excited to say we now have a 50/50 female/male NSW Chapter representation, which I hope will work towards attracting more diversity into the project management profession and to our membership.
Welcome to our newly elected volunteer Chapter Councillor, the council elections were held late last year, and I would like to invite you to extend a warm welcome to:
- Fleur Wiley, NSW Councillor
- Jeremy Roberts, NSW Councillor
- Kim Lenox, NSW Councillor
- Selina Wang, NSW Councillor
Congratulations to all who were awarded AIPM Fellowship in 2018 and I hope many more are honoured to achieve this recognition of what they have done for our community. You can view all Fellows here.
I look forward to seeing you all at the community of practices sessions, forums, round table discussions, site tours, presentations, webinars and network events this year, we have many lined up which you can view here and many more to come; please also have a look at our corporate partnership for a way your organisation can benefit from AIPM.
Please reach out to us to discuss ideas, opportunities or seek help to lean in to project leadership challenges we may support and let’s make 2019 prosperous year for all!
Best wishes
James Bawtree FAIPM CPPD, IPMA Level-A®
NSW Chapter President
