Andrew Madry CA MBA MAIPM

Andrew is an accomplished executive, IT and Governance consultant and director with over 25 years executive leadership experience across multiple industry sectors.  Andrew has a track record of successfully leading organisations through considerable change.  He is renowned for being passionate about stakeholders and taking organisations to their next strategic level.

After many years as an executive in publicly listed Finance roles and Executive roles in pioneering organisations developing High Value Clearance Systems, Andrew joined the Australian Institute of Company Directors [AICD] as the Chief Operating Officer.  Here, he led 13 straight years of successive, double-digit membership growth.  During this time, AICD’s growth saw it become the largest Director institute in the world, with over 40,000 members in Australia and Internationally. During his tenure he grew revenue by 25% per annum (turnover increased from $14M to $64M), while successfully navigating through many economic crises – Euro, post 911 and GFC.

In 2013, in a bid to diversify AICD’s income, Andrew led the development of Board and Corporate Services [BCS] a organisation specialising in governance and strategy consultancy, providing services to large listed and non-listed organisations and international partners.  After two years BCS contributed $8M in revenue, or 13% of total AICD income.

He continues to consult in governance matters with larger listed, non-listed and Not-for-Profit organisations and is a sought-after governance speaker at conferences and for board presentations.

Andrew joined AIPM in 2016, initially to assist with the review of AIPM governance structures and creation and subsequent roll-out of the governance foundations document, following the changes to the AIPM Constitution. These changes were agreed at the October 2015 Annual General Meeting.  He was later appointed Chief Operating Officer, with the brief to implement a series of recommendations he made to the AIPM Board to raise the value and relevance for individual and corporate members.

In December 2017, he was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer, following the departure of his predecessor. He continues to drive the 2020 AIPM Strategy, nominating the following aspirations for AIPM which have been endorsed by the AIPM Board:
1. To be the voice of project management;
2. To be the recognised Professional Peak Body for project management; and
3. To be the authority for project management knowledge and practice in Australia and increasingly in Asia/Pacific.

Andrew is a Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is also a Fellow of Governance Institute of Australia. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
