AIPM Board announces Elizabeth Foley as new CEO
The Board of Australian Institute of Project Management is pleased to announce it has appointed Elizabeth Foley as its new Chief Executive Officer. The appointment is effective as of 1 July 2019 following a rigorous and comprehensive recruitment process.

Elizabeth is a strong, dynamic and values-driven leader with an impressive track record for consistently delivering high-quality performance in developing businesses, leading change, managing diverse teams, driving organisational objectives and optimising outcomes in complex environments.

Elizabeth brings a refreshing perspective to the role, with extensive leadership and management experience including five years as the CEO and Managing Director of Research Australia, a not-for-profit, member-based advocacy body, representing the interests of 160 organisations across Australia. More recently Elizabeth shaped, promoted and sold the vision of a Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) specific to digital health, gaining over $156 million in investment from 16 university and 64 industry partners, and an additional Federal Government investment of $55 million, creating the largest digital health specific research centre in the world.

In addition, she has over 20 years' commercial experience managing projects across the digital health, medical research, financial services and packaged goods industries. “We are fortunate to have someone of Elizabeth’s calibre and experience to lead the AIPM at a time when project management is on the cusp of transformation,” said Michael King, Chair of the Board. “We are extremely impressed with the high level of expertise and experience as well as the exemplary qualifications Elizabeth brings to the CEO role.”

Elizabeth brings passion and enthusiasm to the role and has already hosted an introductory get together with the Sydney staff to facilitate a smooth transition to the new leadership. Elizabeth noted, “I am very excited by the challenge of this role and look forward to working with the Board and the staff team, to create opportunities that realise the potential of the AIPM and consolidate the organisations position as the leading project management specialist across Australasia.”

At this time the Board wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Louise Lloyd and Andrew Madry, who graciously acted in the leadership position during the recruitment period.
