International Recognition for the Australian Institute of Project Management

The International Project Management Association (IPMA) has appointed Leh Simonelli, as its Vice President. 

Current Chair of the Board of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM), Leh says “after working with IPMA for some years, I was honoured to be invited to its Board”.  As the Chair of the Board of AIPM this invitation recognises the contribution and influence that AIPM has established in the international arena. The role elevates AIPM as a leading peak member body and reinforces our strategic objective and engagement with like bodies in Asia Pacific region and more broadly on global level. 

IPMA collaborate on an ongoing basis and hold board and council meetings regularly. The governing philosophy of IPMA is to achieve agreement through effective communication and by consensus.  As IPMA Vice President, Leh will be regularly providing strategic advice on governance and other pertinent international matters and its impact on the project management as a profession.
AIPM’s launch of dual certification opportunities in 2017 provides transition from National to International certification levels; AIPM is the only IPMA Member Association in the world that has been approved to provide this transition program.  Providing access to the IPMA Federation promoting the profession of project, programme and portfolio management through a global network of over 60 Member Associations around the world.

The international alliance between IPMA and AIPM is strengthened further by Leh’s appointment to the IPMA Board.
