Join us as we start 2019 with a new discussion theme “Leadership and Managing People”.  The SA Chapter is proud to present our first Health Community of Practice event for the year with guest speaker Dr Elaine Pretorius.

Dr Pretorius is the Clinical Lead for Safety and Quality, Division of Medicine, Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, South Australia. As an experienced leader in the health sector, Dr Pretorius will present on Clinician Engagement in Healthcare Projects and share her lessons learned from initiatives she has led both in Australia and abroad.

Presenter:

Dr Elaine Pretorius is the Clinical Lead for Safety and Quality, Division of Medicine, Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, South Australia. She is also the Chair of the NALHN Mortality and Morbidity Committee, a member of the National Australian Diabetes Centres Steering Committee and the Chair of the NADC Accreditation Committee. She trained in South Africa as an Endocrinologist and General Physician and came to Australia in 2004 to join the Endocrinology team at Flinders Medical Centre. She still undertakes clinical medicine with special interests in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Reproductive Endocrinology and the Diabetic Foot. Dr Pretorius has completed a Master’s Degree in Health Care Management and is currently undertaking an Executive Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators. Dr Pretorius is a passionate cat lover, politics tragic and enjoys embroidery and theatre-going in her spare time.
