The Board of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Darius Danesh as its new Chief Executive Officer. His appointment is effective as of 5 June 2023, following a rigorous recruitment process.

Dr. Danesh brings a wealth of experience as an accomplished executive leader, having held prominent leadership roles and served as a trusted advisor to organisations across various industries in both the public and private sectors. His expertise spans across Strategic Leadership, Project Portfolio Management, PMO, Governance, Risk Management, Business & Digital Transformation, Civil Infrastructure, Data Analytics, AI, and more. 

In addition to his extensive experience as a Chief Executive, Company Director, Chair, and Board member at various organisations, Dr. Darius Danesh has made significant contributions to AIPM as a Board Director, RegPM™ Assessor, mentor, and committee member for over a decade. His active participation within the AIPM community has provided him with valuable insights into the diverse challenges encountered by our members, while also fostering deep understanding of the organisation’s strategies, policies, and goals.

His professional affiliations include being a Fellow Certified Practising Portfolio Executive (FAIPM CPPE), a Fellow Chartered Professional Engineering Executive (FIEAust CPEng EngExec NER APEC Engineer IntPE), and a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). He also holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Science, PhD in Strategic Project Portfolio Management from the University of New South Wales and an Advanced Diploma in Project Management and Governance. 

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Darius Danesh has been the recipient of numerous awards and commendations for his outstanding contributions to the fields of engineering, project management, and data science. His dedication to excellence and his extensive knowledge make him an exceptional addition to the AIPM team.
