This lunchtime event includes a presentation of the TasPorts Port Master Plan, and a tour of the Port Tower and the Macquarie Wharf No 6 (MAC 6) area which is scheduled for redevelopment.

The Port Master Plan will guide investments of more than $200 million in Tasmania's ports during the next 15 years. As part of this plan, TasPorts will be investing in maintenance, remediation and development works across 12 ports, as well as three key projects.

In the Master Plan, TasPorts identified the MAC 6 precinct for the establishment of a dedicated Antarctic precinct.  The development of this precinct will allow for the future expansion of the Antarctic industry here in the Hobart. The procurement of the RSV Nuyina by the Australian Antarctic Division, scheduled to arrive in September 2020, is the driver for the first phase of this project. Due to the vessel’s increased size and shore side requirements, a new facility is required.

Please note: PPE will be required for this event
